About Vincent Cricchio
To see a short video about me = https://youtu.be/2gyxTT8Tf74
I was born in Brooklyn in 1952. I always doodled but I did not recognise that i had any talent at anything in those days.
It was in the early 1970's, after my marrage failed, that I met a talented artist and lithographer, Sarah Hook, that I began making art. She recognised something in me a talent I never saw.
From that time till the late 1980's I did drawing, pen and ink, acrylic and oil painting. From the 1990's till around 2015 I pretty much stopped painting because I became very discouraged when I was rejected by a gallery. I figured my art was no good. besides I was busy with a ten year project creating a Route 66 documentary. You can see that here, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ6oeeUb7E3xhi1Y3VtBBIg/playlists
2015 was a very bad year for me and my family, but that emotional termoil sparked my desire to paint again. Surprisingly my skills began to improve and evolve into the artist I am today.
Artists that inspired me are:
Salvadore Dali
Peter Bloom
Sarah Hook
Norman Rockwell
